What This Blog Will Be About

Focus

This blog will primarily be about full-stack development in modern cloud native environments. The focus will mostly be on the interactivity between client applications and not as much the applications themselves. The backend is where the primary focus lies, both in infrastructure, tools and setups.

About Me

My name is Kasper Juul Hermansen and I live in central Denmark (Midtjylland), Aarhus and work as a software developer for Danske Bank (I do not reflect the opinion of Danske Bank, these are entirely my own). My hobbies are primarily creating applications and having fun with various tools, such as smart home stuff etc. I have in the past played a lot of games, and still do when I’ve got the time.

I also spend quite a bit of time with friends and family, and spending time in nature, running.

Why This Blog?

This blog is an incentive for me to carefully learn and explain technologies that interest me. I also have a facination with medium/large applications, and would like to work with some of the tools that keep them running.

My primary objective is to work with CI/CD applications such as GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins X, Azure DevOps etc. And other meta applications like ELK-stack, Istio.

My Background

I am currently finishing my Bachelors at Aarhus University in ICT (Information-, Communication Technology), think Software engineering with a splash of low-level programming and electrical engineering.

As mentioned before I also work as a studentworker at Danske Bank as a Software Engineer. Where I primarily work with cryptography and legacy systems (hence low-level programming).
